In an attempt to attract a few more britannicans to our Fall Meeting (Monday 13th in SL at 5pm) I thought I'd write a bit about what the Board does (or at least what we're supposed to do :'D).
The Secretary: The secretary's main task is to take notes during each board meeting and write down the minutes. (this position has been combined with info-secretary this last year)
Info-secretary: The info-sec is in charge of updating Britannica's social media accounts, which means regularly updating the followers on upcoming events and other Britannica-related stuff. The info-sec is also in charge of Britannica's e-mail and keeping contact with other associations.
The main task of the president is to hold all meetings. One of the main perks of being President is that you get to boss people around and tell them what to do, but with great power comes great responsibility. The president is obviously also the one who holds the ultimate responsibility for what the board does
The vice-president only really has two tasks. The first is to be the one who replaces or stands in for the President when needed. The second task of the vice-president is communicating with Britannica's sponsor Child via World Vision.
The Host & Hostess
The host and hostess are in charge of all food-related issues. They are in charge of re-filling our Snack Corner, of making sure we always have snacks and stuff available at our events and also in charge of food and drinks at sitzes. They are also in charge of washing dirty dishes in SL.
The most important thing about being part of any Board is team work. You are never alone, everyone will always help you out whenever you need help with whatever. If you're hesitant about joining the Board due to the amount of responsibility, don't worry. You'll work it out together!
All it takes is blood, sweat, and a few tears ;)
